"Welcome to Mamoko"
"The World of Mamoko in the Time of Dragons"
"The World of Mamoko in the Year 3000"
by Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski
We are obsessed with the Mamoko series after finding the first installment at the library! These quirky (wordless) seek-and-find books are full of clever choose-your-own-adventures.
The authors have crafted an original civilization full of intertwining characters with names like Lionel Mane and Olaf Brown, prompting you with a short description and allowing the reader to become the storyteller.
The plots and subplots will engage children for a surprisingly long time. Aimed at kids age 5-8, I'm currently the one telling the stories while my toddler excitedly finds "the guy", but cannot wait to see him start to use his imagination on his own. Incidentally, I love that he can grow with these books, as there is literally something new to notice each time. Similar to the Benjamin Chaud seek-and-find books we reviewed earlier last month, we highly recommend collecting this series and are excited for any new installments!
